  • Q: What kind of game is this?
  • It is a first person single player game, with roughly 75% focus on puzzles and exploration, and 25% focus on action and fighting.

  • Q: Who made the game?
  • Toltec Studios, an indie developer from Sweden. We are a small company. We have just three developers, and a small dozen freelance artists and programmers who help out on a part-time basis.

  • Q: Isn’t this a mod for Unreal Tournament 3?
  • The Ball started out as a mod for Unreal Tournament 3 yes, but we have since moved on. The Ball is a stand-alone game.

  • Q: I have already played the mod version, why would I need to get the full game?
  • Lots of reasons. We are putting in lots of effort in making the full game really be a big step up from the mod releases. We are not just packaging the mod and selling it! We are spending day and night on making it an even better experience than it already was. The full game will have about 40% more or improved content. It will contain the final level. It will feature many graphical updates. And, you’d be supporting us, and allow us to make another game like The Ball. If you liked the mod, and you want to see more of these kind of games then support us!

  • Q: When is the release date, and how much will it cost?
  • We are aiming for a release some time in Summer 2010. The game will cost around 20 Euro. The exact price will be announced later.

  • Q: How long will it take to complete the full game?
  • The story mode will take about six hours to complete.

  • Q: Will there be multiplayer?
  • The Ball is singleplayer only.

  • Q: Will The Ball be released for Mac or Linux? How about console?
  • Since we are dependent on the Unreal Engine Mac and Linux versions are out of the questions at this point.
We would love to release on Xbox Live Arcade or Playstation Network and currently in talks with publishers. Until further notice however, the game is PC only.

  • Q: What will the download size for The Ball be?
  • We are still working on the game so it is a bit difficult to say, but we don’t expect it to be over 1 Gb.

  • Q: Will there be a demo?
  • Yes there will be a demo later. There already is a UDK demo available, but it is quite outdated and not really representable of what the final game will be like.

  • Q: Will there be boxed version?
  • Possibly. The game will primarily be sold online, but retail distribution is definitely something we are looking into as well.

  • Q: Will the game be released in other countries? What languages will The Ball be localized into?
  • Since the game will be sold online you can get it anywhere on the world. The game will be localized in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Swedish. We are looking into adding additional languages.
